Dear Illinois Federation of Public Employees, Local 4408 Member:
Our statewide union, the IFT, is joining forces with other union members across the state in the We Are One coalition. From Monday, April 15, to Thursday, April 18, we're going to e-mail and call our Illinois lawmakers and urge them to fix the broken Tier 2 system. The more members who take action, the louder our voice will be!
As State employees, we know that Tier 2 pension benefits are unfair. I'm sure you agree that every member of our union--no matter when they began working--should be treated equally and deserves to retire with financial security after a lifetime of public service.
Last week, IFT President Dan Montgomery reached out via e-mail about the upcoming "Fix Tier 2 Pensions!" Week of Action from April 15 to 18. This week, seize the chance to connect with your legislators by using the provided web link to call or e-mail them in support of our union's efforts to address Tier 2 pensions.
