AFSCME Local 1110, the Union representing the building service, groundskeeping, and dining service workers at Illinois State University, went on strike April 8th for a fair contract! Not only is ISU refusing to negotiate a fair contract, but they have also started to hire strikebreakers to fill in for the essential work these employees do. The Local 4408 Representative Assembly met in Springfield on Saturday, April 18. It discussed ways to renew the work of the Local and ensure that it meets the membership’s needs as effectively as possible.
