Reminder From the IFT: Election Day Is Tuesday, Nov. 3–Make Your Vote Count!

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. If you haven’t voted yet, make your plan now. In many counties, early voting is open through Monday, Nov. 2, so check your county clerk’s hours. If you’re voting by mail, make sure your ballot is postmarked by Election Day or dropped in an official drop box. Every vote matters, and the stakes for students and working families couldn’t be higher.

Our future depends on electing lawmakers who will fight for:

  • Fully funded PreK–12 public schoolsand the resources every student deserves.

  • Increased funding for public colleges and universities after decades of disinvestment.

  • Affordable healthcare for working families.

  • A fix to the unfair Tier 2 pension system for public employees.

IFT members across Illinois have met with candidates and reviewed their records through our union’s political action committee (PAC) process to identify which candidates are committed to supporting our students, schools, public workers, and communities.

Vote all the way down the ballot. If there’s a school funding referendum on your ballot, or an advisory question about taxing millionaires, vote yes. When we invest in our local schools and ask the wealthiest to pay their fair share, our students win.

Take a moment now to make your plan to vote early or on Tuesday!

Polls are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Our voices are stronger when we show up and vote together. Make your plan, encourage your coworkers and family to vote, and help elect leaders who stand with students, public education, unions, and working people.
