Governor JB Pritzker, Christian Mitchell Receive IFPE Local 4408 Endorsement

CHICAGO, IL — Today, Governor JB Pritzker and lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Christian Mitchell were endorsed by the Illinois Federation of Public Employees (IFPE) Local 4408, IFT-AFT. As a labor union representing Illinois’ public sector workers and state employees, IFPE Local 4408 works every day to improve workers’ rights, wages, and workplace protections, advocating for roughly 1,500 members in state government agencies.

The IFPE Local 4408 voted unanimously to endorse Gov. Pritzker and Christian Mitchell. The endorsement reflects their commitment to empowering organized labor and supporting Illinoisans dedicated to public service across the state.

“IFPE members work every day on behalf of Illinoisans, and I am proud to have their backs,” said Gov. JB Pritzker. “Organized labor has always had a place in my administration, and in partnership with IFPE Local 4408, we have made Illinois the most pro-labor state in the nation, reinforcing worker protections and enshrining the right to organize in the state constitution.
