I wanted to let you know about the status of our members in the Cowden-Herrick Federation of Teachers, Local 3867. Sadly, their Central Illinois community suffered extensive damage from the tornadoes that caused tragic loss of life in parts of Illinois and other states this weekend.
Fortunately, we understand that there have been no reports of severe injury to students or members, and repairs to damage in the area are already underway. We are grateful for the local first responders and the assistance of that generous community. Our thoughts are with our 35 teacher and PSRP colleagues and their families who work in Cowden-Herrick's elementary, junior and senior high schools.
If you know of any IFT members who have been affected by the tornadoes, please reach out to your local union president or IFT field service director.
