As budget negotiations continue in Springfield, this is a critical moment for our schools, students, and communities. IFT members have been clear about what Illinois needs: full funding for education and public services, paid for by taxing the wealthiest, not by giving corporations special deals.
That’s why we’re asking you to take part in the next key actions in this fight.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 27: LOBBY DAY IN SPRINGFIELD
Our final lobby day of the spring session is nearly here, and showing up matters. Meeting directly with lawmakers is one of the most powerful ways we show that educators and public employees are paying attention and demanding better.
On Lobby Day, IFT members will urge legislators to:
Fully fund K–12 schools, higher education, and public services
Reject megaproject tax giveaways that drain school revenue
Advance fair, progressive revenue options so the wealthiest pay their share.
