IFT President Dan Montgomery released the following statement today in support of CTU’s authorization strike vote results:
“All 103,000 members of the IFT proudly stand with the Chicago Teachers Union and congratulate them on their strike authorization vote. Mayor Lightfoot still has an opportunity to avert a strike and transform our school communities in partnership with CTU educators, students, and their families, by putting her promises in writing. Until then, the only recourse left is to strike for the dignity and respect that our students, teachers, and staff deserve.”
