Dear IFPE Local 4408 Member,
On August 27, 2019, IFPE Local 4408 held a statewide contract ratification vote. This voting opportunity was made in part by the outstanding work of the entire negotiating team and member support. I am pleased to announce that through an overwhelming majority the master contract covering all the IFPE members working under the Governor’s office within RC-29, RC-45 and RC-56 has been ratified. Your voices and votes have solidified the fact that when we stand together, voice our concerns and vote, we get results.
I would like to personally thank the entire negotiating team for all their hard work! Through adversity and solidarity this team stood strong, fought valiantly and never gave up. I would also like to thank each member for their continued support. We also owe a huge thank you to Deneen (Pajeau) Taylor our IFT Field representative for all of her hard work keeping the negotiating team on task and on point. I would also note that the Local took a leap of faith while instituting a way for members to vote electronically. This method has not been utilized by this Local in the past.
We, as a Local, were very pleased with the results and will look to this avenue again in the future. Within thirty days of the ratification the Local will be making requests for supplemental negotiations with all the of agencies. The purpose will be to work on language that is specific to each agency.
